- Jacob took a trip to Utah to visit his brother and go backpacking in the Uintah Mountains with his dad. As always, we missed him while he was gone. I missed him even more when his flight got delayed almost 24 hours because he flew on a cheap flight out of the Provo airport.
- Carolyn's hair got long enough for an almost ponytail, which is much nicer when working out.
- Hazel started first grade and got introduced to the picture taking method of outfit planning.
Not a match.
Match!
- Speed continued to do awesome at karate.
- Zizah continued to be adorable.
- Thor couldn't decide if he loved or hated tummy time.
September
- Jacob and Hazel went to the Princess Ball even though she had to leave soccer early that morning because she threw up. She took a nap and drank some ginger ale and was fine by the evening.
- Zizah continued to fall asleep in random places.
- Thor got completely addicted to binkis. ::shakes fist angrily in Alex's direction:: j/k
October
- Carolyn finally got a smartphone and tried to take selfies. It's still awkward.
- Speed got a new belt rank in karate and wowed us with his spelling skills.
- Thor continued to wow the universe with his extreme cuteness.
- Also, Halloween and pumpkin carving happened, but that'll get a separate post.
November
- Jacob let me take embarrassing pictures of him and was quite the trooper at a friend's birthday party.
- Carolyn started annoying Nicole by sending to pictures of potential outfits for her opinion. Yes, our room is generally that messy. Sorry, Mom.
- Hazel started not just reading on her own but reading well on her own.
- Speed was a good sport when Mommy made him not only make but then wear this ridiculous headband thing.
- Zizah got her first haircut, meaning Mom evened up the back so she wasn't rocking as much of a mullet.
Before

After
- Thor was undecided about baby cereal.
- Also, Thanksgiving happened. We were on our own this year - first time in....I don't remember how long. But it was also kind of nice to have a small dinner and just be together.
Speed showing us our dinner (that's a turkey breast, not a ham - we haven't gone crazy or anything)
And now I want another cherry pie
December
- Jacob and I finished the last book for my book bingo minutes before 2014 ended.
- All the kids were generally adorable.
- Zizah (once again) continued to fall asleep in random places, including before midnight on New Year's Eve (last picture - so close).
- Christmas and Christmas-related festivities also happened but those will get their own posts.
And that'll wrap up 2014!
