New House

This is our new house. It's a duplex that is less than one block from the Logan Temple. It's a beautiful area not far from the mouth of Logan Canyon.

This is the back entry to the basement apartment which is where we'll be living starting Monday!!! (That is not our stuff, though. More on that later.)

Our kitchen. Not huge, but still much, much larger than the one in our first apartment. And cleaner. And more updated. And it has a dishwasher, which the first one didn't have. Or the second one, for that matter.

One of the two bathrooms.

The backyard with deck. You can also see the back entrance to our apartment on the far left of the picture. The bush is right by the top of the stairs.

We bought this duplex in mid-July and have been trying to move in ever since. The previous tenants finally moved out on August 31st. There's a whole nasty story there, which includes us having to go to court to get them out. It was a surreal experience to be in a court room in front of a judge. Not one that I want to repeat anytime soon. But, the good news is that we were finally able to start cleaning and moving on Thursday! We will send more pictures if anyone is interested once we get a bit more settled.

If we seemed a little disconnected and distracted at the family reunion (I'm sorry!!) this is why. We were in the midst of the legal battle to evict the lame tenants who thought they were renting the entire house (they weren't, and we had to take the top back by changing all the locks so we could get our new tenants in) and didn't want to leave (they were supposed to be out on July 22nd). The thing that was so difficult was that our old apartment had been rented as of August 1st, so when the old tenants refused to leave, we had to move in with Zak's parents for a while. We didn't know that "a while" would turn into six weeks! The boys have loved living here in Millville and it has been great to have a place to stay and store all of our stuff. But we are so glad to be moving into our place now!

We are renting the upstairs unit to four college girls who are very nice. We are excited to finally feel like we can get on with life! I have updated our address in the address spreadsheet of GoogleDocs, so you'll know where to find us. Love to all!

Very cool! Sounds like it's been an interesting experience. Weird suff always happens (at least in my experiences) when you go about buying real estate. One of those unwritten laws of the universe. Definitely sent more pictures!!
