So Hazel has figured out how to "climb" out of her crib. It's more falling than anything else at this point, so she's only done it once, but we sense tons of fun ahead. She was in her crib the other day, supposed to be taking a nap, crying because she didn't want to. Then her cry changed and got VERY loud. Jacob rushed in (I was on the phone) and found her sitting on the ground, screaming like nobody's business. No injuries that we could ascertain, but she whimpers a little more than usual when we put her down for a nap or bed.
We figure she's traumatized enough that she won't do it again for a while, but who knows how long that will discourage her. Jacob apparently started doing the same thing at this age, so we know whose fault this is really. :)
Other of Hazel's latest feats:
taking her entire bottom drawer out of her dresser and emptying it out of the socks and tights it was supposed to be holding,
standing on her own for 2 seconds before falling straight backwards and bumping her head,
taking clean diapers off seconds after they were put on,
kicking dirty diapers off the changing table onto the floor (thankfully both have landed non-nasty side down),
shutting us out of rooms and then sitting behind the door so we can't open it without bumping her,
dumping out garbage cans,
turning the Wii off while I'm in the middle of a Wii-fit push-up,
turning my computer off while I'm working,
knocking my computer over while I'm working,
grabbing the mustard out of the fridge while I've got it open and sucking on it like a bottle,
and overall just being very adorable and fun, despite all the destruction. :)

Your world as you know it is now over. Welcome to the club.
Cheryl's comment is so very true. It is a good thing that they are so cute or we might not keep them.
Amen!
