Is 13 hours too long...
So we went to the annual Clark County Fair yesterday. We usually try to get our money's worth, but 13 hours was a really long time, especially when we didn't get there until 10:30 in the morning. But, we had fun!! We saw lots of animals... dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, cows, horses, sheep, goats, guinnea pigs, and many others. The kids like that you can touch these animals and get really close to them. We even got an anatomy lesson when Maya asked "what those big things were hanging down under a male sheep and what is that on that horse?". Brooklyn's favorites were the goats and the baby chicks, although she was not about to touch any of them. Logan did finally get her to pet a few. We missed all the quilting, photography, and commercial booths this year because we took the kids to the demolition derby. That was fun! They were amazed that those people would drive their cars into each other and purposefully smash up their car. There were some amazing hits! Maya turned to me during the first heat and said, "I'm not so sure this is such a good idea. The people in those cars could really get hurt." Finally, after almost seven years, she gets that. The kids spent the rest of their time riding on the amusement rides. They absolutely love it! Their favorite ride is the highest roller coaster and the ferris wheel. I even managed to sneak onto the ferris wheel even though I am obviously pregnant now. One big surprise was that our little daredevil turns out to be a big chicken. The little 2 year old who stands on the window sill of the second story window with the window open, of course she is on the screen side, is terrified of the merry-go-round and the giant slide. She will however slide down the fireman pole at the playground and climb to the very top of any play structure at any park. Go figure. The kids were so well behaved and the parents were so energetic that we stayed until 11:30pm. So, for the first time ever, my little ones slept in until 9am-Maya, 10am-Parker, and 11:15-Brooklyn. It was a really fun day and something we look forward to every year.

13 hours?!?! That is CRAZY long. :) But it sounds like you guys had a great time. And there's nothing better than spending quality time with family.
Sounds like great fun. I don't think I could have done that even when I was younger.
Way to go.
Demolition derbies are the best!!! We just went to one in Logan last weekend... they had a truck heat, where there were trucks, vans, and suburbans... AWESOME!!
